Richard Skipper Celebrates the Life of Diana Templeton on Saturday, August 8 at Don’t Tell Mama

Richard Skipper celebrates the life of cabaret artist Diana Templeton on Saturday, August 8 at 3 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Joining Skipper will be Sandra Benet, Eileen Lacy, Anthony Santelmo Jr., Camille Savitz, Deborah Stone, Sidney Myer, John Fay (Diana’s cousin) and Carol Shedlin.

The program won’t be a memorial. but a celebration—the kind of afternoon Templeton would have loved: not in mourning, but in sharing songs, stories, laughter, memories and the enduring legacy of a woman whose friendship enriched so many lives. Templeton was an unwavering supporter of her fellow performers, and someone who possessed that rare gift of making everyone she encountered feel welcomed, valued and loved.

She was Skipper’s dear friend, passing away last year; she would have been 94 on August 7. The two shared a friendship that spanned more than thirty years, speaking every week—often every day—right up until the very end. Templeton was an ally through so many of the milestones that shaped Skipper’s career, celebrating everything from Carnegie Hall and Atlantic City to awards, opening nights and countless performances.
