This year marks Richard Skipper’s 43rd anniversary in the entertainment industry, and to help celebrate the occasion, he will appear in The Magic of Believing at the Post Office Cafe and Cabaret in Provincetown, on Sunday, August 5 at 8:30 PM. Music director is Bryon Sommers.
Skipper is the recipient of four MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) and a Bistro Award, and was cited in Cabaret Scenes as a “Top-of-the-Century Premiere Cabaret Act” and in Cabaret Hotline as one of “Top Ten Cabaret Performers.”
In 1979, Skipper moved from Conway, South Carolina to pursue an acting career in New York City. An eventual and destined proud member of Actors Equity, Skipper has brought his gift of gab and quick wit, his vocal abilities, and his love of music to a variety of stages from Atlantic City to Las Vegas. His original blog set out to chronicle the history of Hello, Dolly! and then morphed into a talk/variety TV series, Richard Skipper Celebrates. This show ran for 2 and 1/2 years and is now syndicated on the most popular podcast platforms and YouTube.
