My latest photo journal features images from selected moments at Remembering Robert Windeler (1940-2024) on Sunday, January 5, at Don’t Tell Mama. Friends, admirers and family gathered to celebrate the life of the distinguished journalist, author and long-time supporter of the New York cabaret community. Multi-award-winning Tracy Stark was the music director. It was a beautiful tribute filled with moving stories and songs shared by the many who knew him and who were supported by his work.
The moving tribute was conceived and presented by Bistro award producer Sherry Eaker, associate Bistro award producer-reviewer Mark Dundas Wood, multi-award-winning Meg Flather and award-winning Lucille Carr-Kaffashan.
Over the years, I’ve personally enjoyed and learned a lot from reading Robert Windeler’s reviews. And at this moving tribute, I loved hearing all the wonderful stories told by people who were close to him. It was an honor and pleasure for me to cover this event.
