Chelsea Table + Stage presents tribute artist Peter Mac as Judy Garland on Saturday, August 12 at 7:00 PM.
Celebrating the 101st birthday of this brilliant performer, Mac helps the audience rediscover the music and legacy of Hollywood’s golden-age songbird. This award-winning musical recreation of the triumphant 1960s-era Judy Garland is all sung live, with no lip-syncing. In this fantasia, the “rainbow diva” is 101 years young and still entertaining the masses, reminiscing about the old days, commenting on current events, and belting out her signature tunes as well as a few “that got away.”
Mac has gained an ardent fan following around the country over the last two decades for his loving, respectful and empathetic portrayal of Miss Garland. Mac chooses to focus on her music and great wit, rather than using her human frailties for cheap laughs. In 2012, in honor of his tenth anniversary performing as Garland, Mac received the Southern California Motion Picture Council Golden Halo Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Live Performance,” presented to him by Osar winner Margaret O’Brien and Garland’s best friend and co-star, Mickey Rooney.
Tickets are $20-$50, in addition to a service charge and a two-item food and beverage minimum. A livestream option is available.
Chelsea Table + Stage is located at 152 West 26th Street, NYC
