Chelsea Table + Stage sets the scene to celebrate New Year’s Eve with vocalist Natalie Douglas in A Very Natalie New Year on Sunday, December 31 at 7:00 PM. Music director is 2022 Drama Desk Nominee Mark Hartman.
This festive and fun night marks Douglas’ 25th Annual New York City New Year’s Eve concert, which been become a beloved institution over the years. The evening will include vintage favorites, new delights, loads of laughs and a preview of Douglas’ album on Club44 Records, scheduled for release in early 2024.
Natalie Douglas offers a strong foundation in the traditional pop vocals of the American Songbook and an equally fierce devotion to the modern jazz, blues, rock and country influences of her childhood. Like her idol Nina Simone, she is drawn to lyrics that tell a compelling story no matter what genre. She is a thirteen-time MAC, two-time Backstage Bistro, Margaret Whiting Award and Donald F. Smith Award winner whose portrait hangs on the Birdland Wall of Fame. Douglas currently can be seen in the award-winning documentary, Sloane: A Jazz Singer, commemorating one of her heroes, Carol Sloane, in domestic and international film festivals.
Tickets are $30-$100, in addition to a service charge and a two-item food and beverage minimum. A livestream option is available for $20.
