Singer Moira Danis debuts her new show, Witness, on Sunday, March 12 at 3 PM, with an encore on Sunday, April 16 at 3 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Joining Danis will be Brian Childers and Andre Montgomery on vocals. Music direction is by Wells Hanley. Co-writer Gerry Geddes directs.
For anyone who witnessed the racial turbulence and turmoil of the sixties, the tragedy of George Floyd was a particularly painful and angering event. That outrage, and so many others, inspired Bistro Award winning singer, Danis, to remember her life during those times as well as the effects a debilitating eye disease has had on her in recent years.
Contemplating questions and searching for answers, Danis will blend story and song, taking the audience with her on that journey. Featured are songs by Barry Manilow, Jimmy Webb, Stephen Sondheim, John Prine, Mr. Mister and others, to illustrate her words.
