West Village piano bar Marie’s Crisis, will be reopening with live indoor performances on Monday, December 7. The bar will reopen with COVID safety guidelines and protocols in place, including two air filtration systems. Only 15 patrons will be admitted at any time, and parties will be separated by either 6-feet or a physical barrier. Marie’s Crisis will be open from 4 to 10 PM on weekdays and from 1 to 10 PM on weekends.
Further, no seating will be allowed at the bar, and a barrier has been installed to separate the bartender and customers. There also will be no seating at the piano, and a barrier has been installed to separate the pianist and patrons. Temperature checks, mask-wearing and contact tracing protocols have been established as per NYC mandates.
“We have spent that past two months making sure that all guidelines for reopening under New York state guidelines were carefully followed, and the owner and staff worked together with management for additional concerns for our reopening regarding our space,” Kenney Green, one of Marie’s longtime pianists, said. “We are the last piano bar to reopen, but we feel that taking that time to observer other bars in person—and a couple of our staff members also work at other piano bars—gave us an opportunity to see what they were implementing and adopt these policies so we don’t get it wrong and do the absolute best we can.”
Marie’s Crisis is located at 59 Grove St. in Greenwich Village.
