Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center at Lakeside hosts an outdoor staged reading of Tartuffe presented by French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) and Molière in the Park on Wednesday and Thursday, May 26 and 27 at 7 pm, Saturday, May 29 at 8 pm and Sunday, May 30 at 7 pm. The English language production if free.
Tartuffe is biting and funny and as relevant today as it was back in the 17th century—especially with its diverse cast, headed by Raul Esparza as Tartuffe, and allusions to the White House as well as Black Lives Matter. The New York Times called Molière in the Park’s 2020 Virtual Tartuffe “revolutionary.”
The May 27 performance is a benefit to support free theater in Prospect Park for years to come. A $150 donation will include the show, a celebratory gourmet picnic box and a complimentary FIAF Membership for free access to virtual events, CinéSalon film series, and more.
