Two-time Billboard Dance Chart Top 10 singer/songwriter Karine Hannah returns for the third time to Feinstein’s/54 Below, on Thursday, April 19 at 9:30 PM, with the premiere of Karine Hannah Sings Streisand. The show is a tribute to Barbra Streisand, to whom she has often been compared, as well as to the 1970s and ‘80s era that produced many of Streisand’s biggest hits, including “People,” “Guilty,” “Memory” and “Somewhere.” Music direction is by Kyle Norris on piano, with Jessie Nelson on cajon.
Hannah, who was discovered in Canada by Celine Dion, credits early New York collaborator Jim Steinman (Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler producer and Whistle Down the Wind lyricist) with helping her to cross genres from pop to cabaret and theatre. She was not only featured in Steinman and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s NYC premiere concert of Whistle Down the Wind, but also appeared in the concerts Paradise Found and Steinman Stripped. Hannah is currently working on her first full-length studio album for the Cash Money label.
