ScoBar Entertainment has announced that PIANO BAR LIVE! has been extended for an open-ended run at Brandy’s Piano Bar on the Upper East Side. Joining Piano Bar Maestro, MICHAEL McASSEY at the keys, will be a veritable Who’s Who of Cabaret and Broadway! PIANO BAR LIVE! is an interactive, live-streaming Piano Bar experience. THERE IS NO COVER CHARGE for PIANO BAR LIVE! but there is a two drink minimum.
Guests for November 18th include Lennie Watts, Nina Gabianelli, Mary Ellen Ryan, Hannah Bonnett and Peter Mac as Judy Garland.
Lennie Watts is a 16-time MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets), 5-time Backstage Bistro and 3-time Nightlife Award-winner. Recognized as an outstanding vocalist, director, producer and booking manager, he has been active in the New York cabaret scene for over 25 years. He has toured nationally and internationally with productions of The Music Man (Marcellus) and The Wizard of Oz (Lion). Other roles include Man in Chair (The Drowsy Chaperone) Psuedolus (A Funny Thing…), Herod (Jesus Christ Superstar), Nicely Nicely Johnson (Guys & Dolls) and Jinx (Forever Plaid). He has performed at The Town Hall in several concerts, including Broadway Unplugged and Broadway by the Year, 1949 and can be heard on the cast recordings of both shows. Watts is the creator and Artistic Director of Singnasium, a non-profit vocal school in New York City. He is currently the President of MAC and was recently named one of “The 50 Most Influential People in New York Cabaret” by NiteLifeExchange.com.
Peter Mac as Judy Garland is a critically-acclaimed and award-winning Judy Garland tribute artist. Now in his seventeenth year, Peter is pleased as punch to be performing in Manhattan again. Mac began his tribute to Miss Garland at The Duplex and Rose’s Turn piano bars. In 2012, Mickey Rooney and Margaret O’Brien bestowed him with the “Southern California Motion Picture Council Golden Halo Award For Outstanding Achievement In Live Performances As the Great Judy Garland.” Mac is currently performing at The Producers Club every Saturday night in Judy Garland: Live! In Concert! His show was reviewed last month in the NY Times, who said: “His show tracks Garland’s career through anecdotes and songs, with Mac duplicating the singer’s physical and vocal mannerisms to often eerie effect.”
Nina Gabianelli began her interest in the cabaret world over 25 years ago when she attended the Eugene O’Neill Cabaret Symposium. She spent the next five years performing in solo and group shows in the NYC cabaret circuit, before escaping to Aspen. In Aspen, Nina has performed with Theatre Aspen, Thunder River Theatre Company and at the Crystal Palace Theatre Restaurant. It was there that Nina and Michael McAssey worked together for several years. Nina’s most recent show at Don’t Tell Mama’s was a sold-out success. Look out for her new show, Polka Dots & Moonbeams, coming to NYC in Spring 2020.
Mary Ellen Ryan
Hannah Bonnett is a current junior majoring in musical theatre and is thrilled to be making her PIANO BAR LIVE! debut. Her recent credits include the Off-Broadway premiere of The Big Bang Theory: A Pop Rock Musical Parody as Bernadette and as Rizzo in Grease at Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. Hannah can be seen in the coming months at several 54 Below benefit concerts and in the new Off-Broadway reading of Common Ground.
