Guitarist Gary Lucas appears with Gods and Monsters on Monday, January 6 at City Winery at 7 PM in Insurrection Resurrection. He’ll be joined by Calvin Weston (drums) and Ernie Brooks (bass).
Lucas, who formed his band, Gods and Monsters (with a revolving cast of players), in 1989, has released over 50 albums as a leader or co-leader to date, and toured in over 40 countries worldwide. He began as a member and featured soloist of Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band and may be best known for co-writing and playing on the first two songs on Jeff Buckley’s double platinum Grace album.
