Dawn Derow Presents Her New Show, “The House That Built Me,” at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Father’s Day, June 16th & Wednesday, June 26th

Following the success of the award-winning My Ship: Songs from 1941, Dawn Derow premieres her new show, The House that Built Me, on Father’s Day, Sunday June 16 at 1 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Directed by multiple MAC Award-winning Director Jeff Harnar with Musical Direction by Matt Baker, Derow tells the story of her father’s vast record collection and how the songs she grew up listening to inspired her and helped her blossom into the performer she is today. The set list will include classic pop hits and Broadway show tunes. Playing in the band is  Peter Calo on guitar and Steve Doyle on bass.

In 2016 Derow revisited her operatic roots and took home a Bistro Award as “Outstanding Vocalist” for LEGIT: A Classical Cabaret before moving on to My Ship for which she won the  MAC Award-winning for “Best Female Vocalist.” She was also nominated for BroadwayWorld.com Cabaret Awards for “Best Show” and “Best Vocalist.” Derow studied classical voice at the Boston Conservatory, and then moved to New York to pursue a career in musical theater. She performed all over the world in operas, classical concerts, musicals, and on cruise ships before returning to NYC to concentrate on cabaret shows focused on Great American Songbook standards, pop classics and her own original songs. Since 2008 she has presented eight different shows, garnering many awards in the process.
