Catch “Grease” in Production at Nearby Bucks County Playhouse, Through Sunday, September 8

The historic Bucks County Playhouse in nearby New Hope, PA is now home to the musical Grease, playing until Sunday, September 8. Hunter Foster, who appeared in the original Broadway cast of the long-running, 1994 revival of the show, is director and Alison Solomon is choreographer.

Grease features a hip-shaking rock ‘n’ roll score with hits including “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin'” and “We Go Together.” The musical celebrates the 1950s, high school, and the friendships we believe will last forever. It’s Rydell High in 1959 and the duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and the gum-snapping “Pink Ladies” rule the roost. After a summer romance, Danny and Sandy are unexpectedly reunited for their senior year, but can they survive the good and bad times at Rydell High?

Among the large cast are Keaton Miller is Danny Zuko and Stephanie Prestage is Sandy Dumbroski. The “Greasers” include Hank Santos as Kenickie, Lorenzo Pugliese as Sonny, David Nick Alea as Roger and Joe Montoya as Doody. The Pink Ladies include Giuliana Augello as Betty Rizzo, Alyssa Wray as Marty, Sunayna Smith as Jan and Erin  as Frenchy. Luke Molloy is music director.
