Benjamin Scheuer Performs the Award Winning “The Lion” at One-Night-Only Benefit on April 30th at 7 PM

A one-night-only performance of The Lion, the Drama Desk Award-winning solo musical written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will play at The Sheen Center on Monday, April 30th at 7 PM. All proceeds benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Scheuer is an accomplished singer, guitarist and playwright who was diagnosed with, and overcame, Hodgkins Lymphoma when he was 28 years old. His response was to write about it, and hence, The Lion was born in 2014, premiering at the Manhattan Theater Club before playing in London’s West End, back in New York Off-Broadway and around the world for three years. This is the last performance of she show before Scheuer retires it to move on to other projects. This presentation of The Lion is directed by Sean Daniels.

Scheuer’s four animated music videos for his album “Songs from The Lion” have won awards all over the world. Besides keeping a written diary of his year of chemotherapy in fighting the disease, he kept a photographic record. With Riya Lerner, Scheuer created of the book, Between Two Spaces, from which 50% of proceeds go to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Please see  www.BetweenTwoSpaces.com
