The immersive theatrical experience, Act & Sip, that places participants right on stage to act out memorable scenes from iconic tv series and films, is offering August 2024 dates, all Saturdays at 5 PM: August 10, 17, 24 and 31 at The Theater Center in Midtown Manhattan.
Act & Sip’s 90-minute classes give everyone an opportunity to get on stage in an Off-Broadway theater and be a star for the night.Expert instructors pair students with partners and hand over the pages of a scene from an iconic NYC sitcom or movie, offering tips along the way to help performers conquer stage fright and discover their inner actor. No previous acting experience required, but participants must be age 21+ (the “sips” are BYOB or purchased from the on-site bar).
The immersive experience is also perfect for bachelorette parties, after work outings, or just a fun night with friends to get on stage
Act & Sip is produced by Russell Acting Studio, one of New York’s top-rated boutique acting studios. In a relaxed social setting, instructor-actors Catherine Russell and Bradley Bemboom guide participants step-by-step through creating a memorable performance. Russell originated the role of Margaret Brent in New York’s longest running play Perfect Crime, and still performs in the role today. It’s a feat that’s landed her a Guinness World Record. She teaches undergraduate acting at New York University and was one of the lead producers of The Fantasticks.
