Singer/songwriter Meg Flather, 2016 MAC Award winner for “Best Original Song” and recipient of 2017 MAC and Bistro Awards for “Female Vocalist of the Year,” to name a few accolades in a 30-year career as a solo cabaret artist, is introducing a new show, Back When We Were Beautiful, on Saturday, February 17 at 7 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Back When We Were Beautiful is directed by multiple-Award Winner Lennie Watts with Musical Direction by multiple-Award Winner Tracy Stark. Flather’s new show conveys portraits and stories of women as they navigate seasons of life, featuring songs from musical theater, classic Hollywood, and the female singer/songwriters who influenced her own songwriting. Showcasing work from Jerry Herman to Joan Armatrading, Mercer and Mancini to Flaherty and Ahrens, and Suzanne Vega to Donna Summer, Flather’s program displays an eclectic and diverse range of music and emotion.
