Urban Stages Annual Benefit Honors Iconis, Colby, Toce and Matsuki at The Players Club on Tuesday, May 20

Urban Stages celebrates 41 years of musical innovation with its In Harmony benefit on Tuesday, May 20 at 6:30 PM at the Players Club. Honorees are Joe Iconis, Michael Colby, Sue Matsuki and Tom Toce.

Frances Hill, Founder and Artistic Director of Urban Stages hosts this evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, music, performances and a unique auction, honoring these luminaries whose contributions to musical storytelling continue to inspire audiences. Since its founding, Urban Stages has championed the development of new musical theater and plays with music as well as offering bilingual musical performances, instrument exploration and cultural programs via its Outreach initiative. Honorees at this year’s benefit are:

Joe Iconis, Luminary Award—creator of ReWrite, which debuted at Urban Stages in 2008.
Michael Colby, Musical Artist Award—lyricist and a Winter Rhythms staple, and Vice President of Urban Stages’ Board of Directors.
Sue Matsuki, Musical Artist Award—award-winning singer, songwriter, author and producer of Urban Stages’ Winter Rhythms series.
Tom Toce, Musical Artist Award—songwriter, former producer of Winter Rhythms and President of Urban Stages’ Board of Directors.
