Trumpet player Geoff Gallante will appear at Freddy’s Bar on Friday, March 21 with a jazz set from 9 – 11 PM. With him will be Colson Jimenez (bass) and Matt Lee (drums) and special guests.
A graduate of the Juilliard School, Gallante began playing at age of four, and a year later qualified for the top ensemble at a local high school band camp. This led to a featured story in the Washington Post, and soon after, his appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” jump-started his long and successful performance career. As a youngster, Gallante performed the national anthem nationwide for NBA, MLB and NHL games, guest soloist with various Military bands and concert bands, and even performed at the White House at age six. In 2018, he was selected for Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra Jazz European tour, and also led his own groups at clubs such as Blues Alley, the Iridium, Jazz at the Kitano, the Deer Head Inn and Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill. More recently, Gallante was subbing with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra. He has performed around NYC with artists including Arturo O’Farrill, Ulysses Owens, Mimi Jones, Russel Hall, Julius Rodriguez and the Etienne Charles Big Band.
