Icons of Jazz, the winter series, begins tonight January 22nd, in the the Two E Lounge at The Pierre Hotel with the Maucha Adnet quartet and Bossa Always Nova.
Adnet (vocals) represents Brazilian bossa jazz coupled with American cool jazz in a swinging fusion of beats and sounds. Playing with Adnet are Harry Allen (tenor saxophone), Helio Alves (piano), Itaiguara Brandão (bass) and Rogerio Boccato (drums/percussion). The Icons of Jazz series, under the musical direction of Antonio Ciacca, continues with:
February 26th – To Buenos Aires With Love, an evening of classic Argentinian tango with the legendary Pablo Aslan Quintet.
March 19th – Big Band Sounds, celebrating Antonio Ciacca’s 50th birthday with standards from the Great American songbook.
April 30th – International Jazz Day, with an all-star lineup of jazz musicians participating in this global event.
Icons of Jazz in the Two E Lounge at The Pierre offers a set menu of canapes, plus a welcome drink at $75 for a one-hour performance.
