Tomorrow, September 10 at Dizzy’s Club: Saxophonist and Composer Tobias Meinhart and His Sextet

Brooklyn-based saxophonist and composer Tobias Meinhart, brings his sextet to Dizzy’s Club on Tuesday, September 10 to celebrate his new album The Painter, an innovative work that blends visual art and jazz, creating a unique synesthetic experience inspired by colors and textures.

The show, with sets at 7 PM and 9 PM, features an ensemble of first-call musicians:

Tobias Meinhart, saxophone
Ingrid Jensen, trumpet
Charles Altura, guitar
Eden Ladin, piano
Matt Penman, bass
Obed Calvaire, drums

The German-born Meinhart moved to New York City after graduating college, furthering his studies and in 2012 receiving his Master’s Degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music. Over his career since he’s had five albums out under his own name prior to The Painter. The multi-award winner has toured internationally as well as nationally, as both a freelance and leading his own groups.
