EMMY® Award-winning soprano Adrienne Danrich, in celebration of Black History Month, presents This Little Light of Mine—The Stories of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price, streaming on Friday, February 26 at 7:30 PM ET. This “documusical” honors the ground breaking careers of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price, two Grande Dames of classical music. Walking in the Footsteps of Great, a discussion and Q&A about the lasting impact, influence and inspiration effected by Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price will follow the show. Host and creator of KiKi Konversations, Karen Slack, leads the discussion, featuring fellow contemporary trailblazers in the operatic field, Adrienne Danrich, Nicole Heaston and Afton Battle.
This Little Light of Mine, written and performed over 80 times by Danrich, is a one-woman musical tribute told through the diva’s storytelling ability, the beauty of her voice and multi-media images, documenting the lives of these two internationally renowned artists who overcame many racial barriers from the Jim Crow era through the Civil Rights Movement and beyond.
