The Musical Comedy, “My Ex-husband’s Funeral” Plays on Saturdays, January 17, 24 and 31 at Don’t Tell Mama

The 11-character musical comedy in the cabaret milieu, My Ex-husband’s Funeral, by Lisa Ellex, plays on Saturdays, January 17, 24 and 31 at Don’t Tell Mama, all at 7 PM. Musical director is pianist Ricky Ritzel. The show is directed by James Luzar.

With six original songs and several standards, the show is set in a funeral parlor following the death of Joe Clancy (played by the voice of musical director Ricky Ritzel) who was husband, lover, father, cousin, brother, nephew and friend to the characters in attendance.

Outrageous family dynamics set the stage for the action with Sidney Myer as Aunt Baby Marie (a retired Ziegfeld Folly), Warren Schein and Mary Ellen Ryan (as eccentric cousins), Lulu Rose (as the grieving daughter), Eadie Scott (as the widow), and Ellex, as the ex-wife.  Other cast members include Bobby Breiter as the best friend and Goldie Dver as Sissy, the rehab escapee/funeral crasher, plus Aaron Morishita. and Alison Nusbaum.
