The Mabel Mercer Foundation celebrates its milestone 40th anniversary and the 125th birthday of Mabel Mercer with Elegance & Legacy on Wednesday, June 11 at 54 Below, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The evening will be full of song and history in a heartfelt tribute.
The night’s talent roster includes Carole J. Bufford, Natalie Douglas, Bryan Eng, Jeff Harnar, Karen Mason, Madalynn Mathews, MOIPEI (Mary, Maggy & Marta), Lee Roy Reams, Steve Ross, Craig Rubano and KT Sullivan. Accompanying the artists will be Jon Weber on piano and Steve Doyle on bass.
Adding to the evening’s festivities, the Foundation’s artistic director, KT Sullivan, and managing director, Rick Meadows, will share stories from the rich history of the Mabel Mercer Foundation—and, most importantly, toast to the bright future of cabaret.
Founded in 1985 by the late Donald F. Smith, just one year after Mabel Mercer’s passing, the Foundation has been steadfast in its mission to champion and preserve the art of cabaret. Over the past four decades, thousands of singers have graced stages under the Foundation’s aegis, performing timeless renditions from the Great Popular Songbook and keeping Mercer’s unparalleled legacy alive.
