The Laurie Beechman Theater presents Ava Nicole Frances in “Glitter and be Gay!” on Saturday, Decemember 13 at 9:30 PM. Music Director is Darnell White. Special guests are singer-songwriter Ryan Thompson, and the multi-genre saxophonist Algonzo.  Frances’ band includes Jon Weber on violin, Eric Wharton on bass, and Jon Berger on drums.

The American Idol finalist is thrilled to celebrate the holidays in her unique way. You will hear holiday favorites, songs of the season, iconic pop and Songbook selections –everything from Adele to Cole Porter. Add in a little Judy, Liza and Barbra and you have a warm holiday cocktail, perfect on a winter’s eve.

Frances, actor, singer, songwriter, began performing at an early age, getting her start in cabaret at only ten years old. She is a twotime Broadway World Cabaret Award winner, and a Manhattan Association of Cabaret (MAC) Award nominee for her original song, “little did i know”. Ava is also the recipient of the Michael Feinstein Songbook Academy Spotlight Award and a top 5 finalist on Broadway World’s Next on Broadway competition; she also competed in Season 22 of American Idol, gaining a spot in the Top 56 out of nearly 70,000 contestants. Most recently, Frances originated the titular role in “Olivia O: a new musical,” off-off-Broadway.
