As part of the Juilliard Fall Festival, the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra visits the early swing bands of the 1920s and 1930s on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 PM at Alice Tully Hall. The program, under the baton of conductor, Jennifer Krupa, will include the music of jazz greats such as Duke, Ellington, Chick Webb, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and more.
The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra is the premier jazz ensemble of The Juilliard School. It’s comprised of undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in jazz studies. The orchestra performs a wide range of jazz music, from classic compositions to contemporary works.
