The Inkwell Singers lead a musical revolution with Into the Gap—Songs of Protest and Hope at Don’t Tell Mama on Thursday, April 24 at 7 PM and Saturday, April 26 at 3:30 PM. Singers Matthew Schermerhorn and Andy Rice will be joined by music director-pianist-violinist David Shenton, with guitarist-bassist Matt Scharfglass, and special guest vocalists, Kara and Daniela Masciangelo.
The show will present songs and stories to help audiences grapple with the state of our turbulent world and how to embrace life’s daily challenges. This show is an opportunity for fostering community through familiar music and music makers, including The Beatles; Peter, Paul and Mary; Joni Mitchell; Simon & Garfunkel; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Rodgers & Hammerstein; Kander & Ebb; Jerry Herman; Frank Sinatra and more.
Matthew Schermerhorn and Andy Rice have been singing together since they met in 1995, at the Lesbian/Gay Chorus in San Francisco. They founded Musaic, a San Francisco men’s a cappella vocal ensemble focusing on classical music and pop tunes that performed over two hundred concerts in its twenty-year tenure. Since moving to New York in 2015 they have been immersed in cabaret.
There is a cover charge of $35 + a two-drink minimum (a food menu is also available). (Cash Only). Reservations and information are available at linktr.ee/inkwellsingers.
