Ray DeForest has been a successful, lifelong entertainment industry professional. It just so happens that one of the manifestations of his career is his alter ego and inner housewife, Doris Dear. DeForest, a 2016 MAC Award winner, returns to the Rumpus Room at The Triad Theater with The Doris Dear Special, Like Mother Like Daughter, for one night only Friday, April 20 at 7 PM. The show celebrates Mom Taffy, and moms everywhere, with special guests Hansen Award and MAC winner Meg Flather, Shaynee Rainbolt, Lina Koutrakos and the mischievous dispenser of musical repartee, Sidney Myer. DeForest’s show will feature stories about Moms and her influence on everyone’s “inner ‘housewife,” told through a mix of singing and comedy.
When DeForest isn’t channeling Doris Dear he’s busy with a career as a TV/Film/Event Executive producer/ writer/ director/ commercial theater producer and developer. He’s also a nonprofit board member, producer of nonprofit events and concerts, and a fund raiser. DeForest is also a TV host for cable and nationally syndicated shows for FOX, Food Network, HGTV, Animal Planet and others.
