Dear Evan Hansen, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s new musical about a lie that changes everything, won 6 Tony Awards at the 71st annual Tony ceremony. Pasek & Paul were honored for their score, Steven Levenson was honored for his book, and Alex Lacamoire won for his orchestrations. Actors Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones won for their performances.
Hello, Dolly! won Best Revival of a Musical with Bette Midler and Gavin Creel winning for their performances. Oslo won Best Play and August Wilson’s Jitney won Best Revival of a Play.
Hosted by Kevin Spacey, the broadcast included 10 performances, including a special appearance by the Radio City Rockettes and Tony winners Leslie Odom Jr. and Cynthia Erivo. A complete list of the winners is below.
