Sue’s Muse: An Interview with Andrew Abrahamsen

There’s another “new kid on the block” and he is such an impressive young man! I met him through his publicist, the effervescent gal about town, Jan Goldstoff, at a show at Chelsea Table + Stage. He’s also been playing the 5:00-11:00 PM Sunday night spot at Chez Josephine (up again on December 21 and 28 and in the same slot during January 2026). He is a MUST SEE—a Carnegie Mellon University grad who’s also a composer as well as a singer-pianist—and as you will hear in the interview, he’s does not like the word “prodigy;” but it’s hard not to think of him as such because he is SO accomplished artistically, and he even already has his own company…so…yeah…I would say he’s a prodigy, but let’s respect his wishes and NOT call him that! Please meet a remarkable young man, Andrew Abrahamsen…
