Jazz vocalist Stephanie Nakasian brings a double-header to Chelsea Table + Stage on Saturday, June 14 at 7 PM, with June in June plus Tenor Gladness. The former is a tribute to vocalist June Christy and the latter honors the great sax men of jazz, with special guest, tenor saxophonist Harry Allen. With Matt Baker (piano), Karl Kimmel (bass) and Aaron Seeber (drums).
After years of meeting, recording, and playing together at major jazz festivals in the U.S., Allen and Nakasian will have their first New York area appearance together with rare Christy songs and tributes to great tenor masters (and duets), including: Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Illinois Jacquet, Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins and many more.
