The producers of the return of the sold-out Little Shop of Horrors starring Tony nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Spring Awakening, “Mindhunter”), Emmy Award winner Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland, Gypsy) and Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten!, Falsettos) have released eight additional weeks of tickets, now on sale through Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd St, NYC). Preview performances begin Tuesday, September 17, ahead of an official opening night on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s musical returns to New York under the direction of Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening). Also in the cast are Tom Alan Robbins, Kingsley Leggs, Ari Groover, Salome Smith, Joy Woods, Stephen Berger, Chris Dwan, Kris Roberts, Chelsea Turbin, Eric Wright and Teddy Yudain. Tony Award nominee Gideon Glick (To Kill A Mockingbird, Significant Other) will join the cast of the production as “Seymour” for two weeks only, from Tuesday, November 5 through Sunday, November 17, while Jonathan Groff is on a scheduled leave from the production.
Rounding out the creative team are Choreographer Ellenore Scott (Head Over Heels Associate), Tony-nominated Scenic Designer Julian Crouch (Hedwig and the Angry Inch); two-time Tony-winning Lighting Designer Bradley King (Hadestown, Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812); Emmy-winning Costume Designer Tom Broecker (Everyday Rapture); Tony-winning Sound Designer Jessica Paz (Hadestown); Emmy-nominated Puppet Designer Nicholas Mahon (Pyeongchang Olympics Opening Ceremony); Puppets by Monkey Boys Productions; and Music Supervisor, Orchestrator and Arranger Will Van Dyke (Pretty Woman).
Tickets through Sunday, January 19 are now on sale at Telecharge.com/212-239-6200 (outside NY metro area: 800-432-7250) and at the Westside Theatre Box Office (407 W. 43rd St.). Box office hours are 12-6 PM or until showtime on performance days. The preview playing schedule for Little Shop of Horrors is Monday–Saturday at 8 PM, with Saturday matinees at 2 PM. Beginning October 18, the regular playing schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM & 8 PM, Fridays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
