Singer Moira Danis Returns to Don’t Tell Mama with Celtic Legacy on March 3

Just ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, singer Moira Danis will return to  Don’t Tell Mama on Saturday, March 3 at 4 PM. Danis’ Celtic Legacy, which debuted to praise in December 2017, will again be helmed by music director Wells Hanley on piano, with Noah Hoffeld on cello and Mike Lunoe on percussion. Danis will present a century-spanning view of Irish music, from the traditional to the modern sounds of Phil Coulter and U2. Inspired by a visit to her ancestral homeland, the show weaves a musical tapestry, celebrating Danis’ heritage and the musical legacy Ireland has given to the world. Directed by Gerry Geddes, Celtic Legacy strives to capture moments in time that provide a snapshot of a country, its history and struggles and its people.

Critics have said of Danis that “She couldn’t have sounded more Irish if the cabaret room had magically turned into a country pub. Danis’ lilting operatic soprano was made for traditional Irish music.” “(Her) strength is storytelling… she’s animated and vibrant as she sings.”

Celtic Legacy, Saturday, March 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
