Singer-dancer Michelle DellaFave returns to Don’t Tell Mama with Diggin’ Life: Songs & Stories of A Former Dean Martin Golddigger on Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM. Music Director-pianist is Ian Herman, with additional musical support by bassist Jerry DeVore, Directed by Tanya Moberly.
The show is a retrospective of DellaFave’s career, which began at the Copacabana nightclub as a Copa Girl. Born into a show business family, she next joined The Golddiggers, becoming one of four Dingaling Sisters, singing, dancing and clowning with Dean Martin each week on his popular TV series. Concurrently, she made two USO Tours with Bob Hope, and also appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.” DellaFave was paired with Lonette McKee in a singing-dancing duo, The Soul Sisters, on the first season of Jonathan Winters‘ syndicated TV show.
Pulling back to raise a family, DellaFave performed from time to time in regional and local theatrical presentations and returned to show business fully in 2007, releasing several albums and touring the country entertaining veterans and active-duty service men and women. She continues to volunteer her time on behalf of Vets.
