Shelly Watson returns to The Laurie Beechman Theatre with a new show “Are You There God? It’s Me Shelly” a tale of Jezebels, Jesus and Juilliard. This special Easter Edition of Songs On a Sunday tells the tale of how ultimate entertainer Shelly Watson came to be through music and storytelling. With an emphasis on spirituality, join her on a tour of tribulations, titillation and triumph Easter Sunday, April 16th at 7pm.
Watson will be joined on stage by music arranger Chris Johnson on vocals, piano and banjo, Geoff Moonen on guitar and trumpet and Curt Garey on vocals and drums. Guest artists include Storm Marrero and The New York City Burlesque Choir. The show features music ranging from Mel Brooks to Faure. Shelly Watson is both Director and Musical Director.

Shelly is an award winning Juilliard alumni with a B.M and M.M. She has sung everywhere from The Metropolitan Opera to The Metropolitan Room. This is her sixth season with Company XIV. She won the final Cabaret Star of the Year Award at Mo Pitkins, has performed shows at Cutting Room, Slipper Room, Duane Park, Don’t Tell Mamas, Rainbow Room, Windows on The World, Le Poisson Roige, Minetta Lane Theater, Highline Ballroom and many, many more.
