This year celebrates Scott Siegel‘s 25th anniversary of presenting Broadway’s historical concerts with Broadway By the Season at Merkin Hall on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 PM. Among the performers are international concert artists, Moipei, Olivier Award nominee Kyle Scatliffe (The Scottsboro Boys, The Color Purple, Les Misérables), and Forbidden Broadway star Jenny Lee Stern.
The concert will feature in Act 1 the famous songs born on Broadway in the 1934-35 Season, while Act 2 will feature famous songs born on Broadway during the 1946-47 season. Among the shows represented will be Anything Goes, Revenge With Music, Annie Get Your Gun, Brigadoon, Finian’s Rainbow, and more. Audiences will see how Broadway music changed and evolved from the depths of The Great Depression to the immediate post-World War II era. All of this guided by series producer, director, writer, and host Scott Siegel’s narration.
