Richard Skipper has assembled a splendid cast to entertain and honor Broadway and Off-Broadway artists this Sunday, April 8 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at 1 PM. The cast includes Lane Bradbury, who created the role of Dainty June in the original Broadway production of the classic show Gypsy, starring Ethel Merman; Annie Hughes from Off-Broadway’s Closer Than Ever; Lauren Mufson, from the Broadway and National Touring companies of Mamma Mia!; Marta Sanders, from the original company of Best Little Whorehouse In Texas; and Stephanie Pope from Fosse, Chicago and Pippin. The show has Musical Direction by Joe Goodrich with Rex Benincasa on percussion, Steve Doyle on bass and Erik Lawrence on sax.
With music, reminiscences and an afternoon of fun and show business, thie 90-minute show will be full of “merriment and excitement” in the usual style of SKipper’s “feel good entertainment of the highest quality.” The show honors the artists and the roles they created and/or made their own, similar to the old-fashioned TV specials and series, where chat was part of the proceedings.
