Rose Kingsley & Richard Shelton Fête Sinatra and Mercer in Too Marvelous for Words, on Friday, May 10th

Former opera singer Rose Kingsley and Frank Sinatra interpreter Richard Shelton are joined by pianist Jon Weber, with special guest  Dave Damiani, on Friday, May 10 at 8:00 pm at the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Pubic Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center. Too Marvelous for Words features stories about and songs of Johnny Mercer, with arrangements by Bob Corwin, who was Mercer’s Musical Director and pianist for 20 years.
Kingsley has performed at venues including The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall and Houston Grand Opera, among others. She’s performed with the likes of Luciano Pavoratti, Placido Domingo, Connie Francis, John Denver and Frank Sinatra. She’s also performed before US Presidents George H.W. Busch, Gerald Ford and William Clinton, as well as at a command performance for HRH Prince Charles. As a recent crossover artist she has released her first CD, This Is My Life, and performs in cabaret rooms nationally.
Richard Shelton is a multi-award nominated British actor based in LA. His evocation of Frank Sinatra saw him nominated as ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role” (Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards) in the drama, Rat Pack Confidential on the London stage. On US TV screens, Shelton is best known for his recurring roles on “Jane the Virgin” and  for “House of Lies.” In his native UK, he played the charmingly murderous role of Dr Adam Forsythe on the long-running drama “Emmerdale.” His latest album, Lost and Found, features original songs and standards in jazz and swing. HIS play, “Sinatra: RAW” in London in January and is scheduled for a run in LA this summer.
