Things will be “hot and Cole” when Richard Skipper returns to the American Popular Song Society for the final show of the 2017-2018 season, on Saturday, June 9th at 1:30 PM. The afternoon, performed in The Musicians’ Hall of Local 812, is devoted to the influence that songwriter Cole Porter has had on the cabaret community. More than that, the show celebrates Porter’s 127th birthday. He was born on June 9, 1891. Skipper and guest artists, Sally Darling, Jeff Harnar, Todd Murray, Karen Oberlin, Leslie Orofino, and Steve Ross, will sing well-recognized favorites. The event is music directed by jazz and musical theater pianist, Daryl Kojak.
Non-Members of the American Popular Song Society can attend the programs (as a guest) for $15 per person. Attendees may join the APSS for only $55 per year and receive the benefit of nine great programs and a monthly newsletter per year.
