BY ROB LESTER**** All were 2017’s MAC Award Female Vocalist nominees. All are Together for a good cause this Sunday afternoon — Celia Berk, Sally Darling, Josephine Sanges, Lisa Viggiano, and she who took home the MAC, Meg Flather. It’s Gay Pride Sunday (June 25) and the beneficiary of their very Together show is Trinity Church’s program for LGBT young people.
Don’t Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street, is the location for their 4:15 pm show this Sunday, and it’s a room each of the ladies has played, so none will need Google maps or a GPS or compass to get there. Their individual shows have saluted such diverse songwriter-performers as Carly Simon, Noel Coward, and Ann Hampton Callaway, and been valentines to Manhattan and the Great American Songbook and more. Lisa recently returned to cabaret after spending some time raising two sons, Josephine was a longtime church singer who has “converted” to cabaret, Celia is relatively new on the scene—but has already recorded two albums and appeared in the Cabaret Convention where she sang with Josephine— and Sally and Meg have done much work at DTM, and both were acknowledged with MAC’s special Hanson Award in the last few years.
