NiteLife Exchanges with Alec Mapa

NiteLife Exchanges is a streaming video interview show, with hosts Scott Barbarino and Tony Javed. In this edition they welcome Alec Mapa.

NLE publisher, Scott Barbarino has his own storied career in New York night life as a performer, host, producer and more. He says, “I first discovered Alec Mapa during those halcyon nights back in the day at The Duplex and Don’t Tell Mama where he always brought laughter to the room!”

The world finally caught up with Alec Mapa when he replaced B.D. Wong as Song Liling in the original production of the Tony Award-winning M. Butterfly, launching him into a rich career in television and film. He guest-starred on over 40 series, including “Alias,” “Friends,” “Roseanne,” “Seinfeld” and “NYPD Blue,” among others. He also appeared as a regular in CBS TV’s 2001 gay-themed sitcom, “Some Of My Best Friends,” scoring a double whammy as a featured Asian actor. Mapa went on to star in four seasons of the UPN sitcom “Half & Half” as well as the ABC hit “Ugly Betty” and played as a frequent guest star on “Desperate Housewives.” Film audiences howled at Alec as N’Cream in the wildly popular drag queen musical Connie and Carla. Other films include Playing By Heart, Marley & Me, and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.

This Sunday, July 27 at 7 PM, ALEC MAPA brings his hilarious one-man comedy show to The Cutting Room (44 East 32nd Street). Tickets and info HERE.
