Mark Hartman Brings Late Breaking Stories to The Beechman Thursday, January 19

ScoBar Entertainment is proud to present the acclaimed, MAC Award-nominated variety show, Mark Hartman’s Late Breaking Stories, on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 7:00 pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The evening is hosted by Pianist/Music Director/Conductor Mark Hartman, with John Miller on bass, Jerome Jennings on drums & featuring songs by David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, George Michael, Prince & more. Joining Mark will be Nicholas Rodriguez, Nilan Johnson, Ricky Alan Saunders & special guest, multi award-winning vocalist, Natalie Douglas.

Based in New York City, Mark Hartman has worked on Broadway (Sondheim on Sondheim – Associate Conductor; Avenue Q – Associate Conductor & Music Director; the original production of Miss Saigon – keyboards) & was the Music Director/Supervisor of the Off-Broadway productions of Pageant, Stars of David, Silence! The Musical & Dear Edwina; eight shows with the Irish Repertory Theater & five with the York Theater Company. He was one of the lucky pianists to play The Fantasticks both at the Sullivan Street Playhouse & at the Jerry Orbach Theater. Regionally, Mark has worked for the 5th Avenue Theater (Seattle), Asolo Repertory Theater, Broadway In Chicago, North Shore Music Theater (IRNE Award Nom), The Old Globe, Pasadena Playhouse, Playmakers Repertory Company & many others.

He also conducted for the National & international productions of Guys & Dolls, Pippin & The Irish…and How They Got That Way. Mark’s cabaret appearances include Birdland, The Carlyle, The Crazy Coqs (London), Eighty-Eight’s, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Feinstein’s at the Regency, Joe’s Pub, The Greenwich Theatre (London), Iridium, The Laurie Beechman Theater, Rose Hall/Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Town Hall & Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. Most of these have been with 7-time MAC Award winner Natalie Douglas, with whom he has shared an 18-year professional partnership. Concert conducting includes the NYC premiere of Children of Eden, the 20th Anniversary concert of Rags, Camelot with Jeremy Irons, Oliver! with Brian Stokes Mitchell & a Rodgers & Hammerstein tribute at the Shubert Theater hosted by Shirley Jones, featuring Patrick Cassidy, Jason Danieley, Melissa Errico, Howard McGillin, Marin Mazzie, Paulo Szot & many more. He is the recipient of two MAC Awards & the Backstage Bistro Award for Music Direction.
