Enduring jazz and popular singer, Marilyn Maye, will celebrate her 93rd birthday with a new concert streaming on demand via Feinstein’s/54 Below. Broadway, the Maye Way was filmed live at the venue and will premiere on Saturday, May 8, at 7 pm ET, with a VIP event with Maye following the opening-night stream. The show will then be available on demand from Sunday, May 9 through the 29th.
Maye and her jazz trio present songs from Broadway’s Golden Age, selected from various starring roles throughout her career, along with stories from her eight decades in show business. Maye usually marks her birthday with a string of performances at the venue each April, and this concert was shot with five HD cameras during her birthday week.
54 Below Premieres is a series of live-streamed concerts, featuring cinematic, five-camera HD shoots to bring the glamour and intimacy of Broadway’s Living Room directly to in-home screens. Each show will be designed and directed especially for streaming by an award-winning production team, with audio and video that reflect the high standards of presentation that have made evenings at Feinstein’s/54 Below New York’s most unique cabaret experience.These virtual performances, which will provide theater fans worldwide with artistic content from their favorite Broadway stars, will be performed and recorded on Feinstein’s/54 Below’s iconic stage, with no public audience and following strict COVID guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all the artists and staff.
