Popular West Village/Grove Street piano bar Marie’s Crisis, like other establishments in New York City, was forced to close its doors in this COVID-19 crisis. None the less, through the Facebook page Maries Group, the pianists usually playing at the bar will be live-streaming their sets to home audiences. The normally closed group is currently accepting all applicants. The pianists’ shifts are earlier than under normal circumstances, from 4 pm to 7 pm and then 7 pm to 9:30 pm. The pianists will take requests for tunes, with sing-alongs encouraged.
Below is the current schedule for the virtual Marie’s Crisis piano bar—along with their Venmo addresses for tipping. Be mindful that this is no doubt the artists’ only source of income now.
