MAC and Bistro Award winning vocalist, Marieann Meringolo, will celebrate her latest recording, Between Yesterday and Tomorrow: The Songs of Alan & Marilyn Bergman (BluJazz Records), with a return appearance at The Iridium on Tuesday, May 29th at 8:30 PM. Longtime Musical Director/pianist/arranger, Doyle Newmyer is at the keys, along with Boots Maleson on bass and Sipho Kunene on drums. The show is directed by Will Nunziata.
The New York-based vocalist has been receiving positive reviews for her powerful interpretations of the songs written by the Bergmans, which includes classics such as “The Way We Were,” “Pieces of Dreams,” “Nice ‘n Easy” and “Fifty Percent.” Meringolo also sings lesser-known works by the Bergmans, including “Something New In My Life” and “Love Makes the Changes.” Meringolo has performed at New York venues such as Feinstein’s/54 Below, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, The Iridium, Metropolitan Room, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Hammerstein Ballroom and Tavern On The Green. She has also toured with comedian David Brenner and headlined at Steinman Hall at The Ware Center, Lancaster, PA and internationally on cruise ships Oceania, Regent Seven Seas and Princess.
