Vocalist Marie-Claire Giraud performs From Harlem to Hollywood on Sunday, April 6 at 54 Below at 7 PM. She’ll be accompanied by pianist-music director Matt Baker with Skye Hamilton-Carranza (sax), Paul Gill (bass) and Pete Van Nostrand (drums).
Giraud will embrace The Great American Songbook, singing music from some of the most influential artists ranging from Duke Ellington to Irving Berlin, transporting audiences to a time when the affluent walked up and down Park Avenue and stomped at The Savoy, and when the world watched as Fred and Ginger glided across marble dance floors under a night sky filled with stars. It was the Golden Age of Hollywood, the time that the movies made them famous and the composers who wrote for them made them great!
