Drag legend and downtown icon, Lady Bunny, continues her residency at The Green Room 42 with March Hare on Saturday, March 1 at 7 PM.
The show features an eclectic set list from Donna Summer to Chappell Roan to Peggy Lee. Bunny takes Roan’s summer smash “Hot To Go” and turns it into “Hot To Blow”, a love letter to hunky folk hero Luigi Mangione. There’s also a new parody of “Popular” from Wicked, and even a couple original tunes! Bunny jumps into the Beyonce country music Grammy controversy, and has a few digs for the embattled P. Diddy. She’s very angry that she was never invited to one of Diddy’s freak offs! And of course, Drag Race queens are her favorite target!
Vogue magazine has written that “There are some people who were simply born to be the life of the party, and nightclub fixture Lady Bunny appears to be one of them.” While her mind may be rooted in the gutter, Lady Bunny’s quick-witted humor is irreverent and topical. In her honeyed drawl, she skewers political correctness, spit-roasts politicians, taunts celebrities and schools audiences on the unique legacy of New York City drag.
