To commemorate the enduring legacy of Louis Armstrong, and to mark the recent publications of two-time GRAMMY Award winner, Armstrong author and expert, Ricky Ricardi (who hosts the concert), American Voices presents Louis Armstrong: A Celebration of the Father of Jazz on Tuesday, February 24 at 7 PM in the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. The evening of music features a six-piece band with pianist Adam Birnbaum and trumpeter Alphonso Horne. Also appearing are:
Jazz favorite and Birdland regular Champian Fulton, Drama Desk and Tony Award nominee Max von Essen. GRAMMY Award winner Catherine Russel and Tony and GRAMMY Award winner Brandon Victor Dixon.
