Written and performed by Leo Rodriguez, I Could Have Been Chita Moreno plays at The Duplex on Mondays, November 4 and December 2, both at 7 PM. The creator of Chosen, Tieresius: A Modern Retelling and Broken Moments: A Bar Musical recounts a life of an adoptee and the questions, complications and blessings that closed adoption creates. This opinionated auto-biographical piece is ultimately celebratory and—fun!
Rodriguez explores what it’s like to hunt origins and DNA with all the modern inventions and websites. He shares via story, original songs, plus a couple of well known hits and offers some good old fashioned sing-a-longs. His Who’s Your Daddy is a featured game show where YOU could be a chosen contestant! The show is directed by Maria Gentile, with music direction by Bill Goffi.
