Renowned jazz pianist/ Steinway artist and radio host Lenore Raphael returns to perform in New York City at The Metropolitan Room on Thursday, September 28th with a wonderful group of musicians to pay tribute to Cole Porter as well as the Great American Songbook and an original tune she wrote in tribute to her idol Oscar Peterson. Lenore has been called “simply one of the best pianists in the jazz mainstream today” by jazz writer Scott Yanow of the LA jazz times. Famed singer Jon Hendricks also called her “One of the ‘baddest most swinging pianist out there today”.
Performing with Lenore will be a great group of New York musicians…wonderful guitarist Jack Wilkins, her longtime NYC bassist and one of the best Hilliard Greene, swinging drummer Ron Vincent, and from California tenor saxophonist Jerry Mandel. Vocalist JD Mills will add to the evening with some memorable Cole Porter tunes.
