I’ll save that list for another time but right now I must tell you that I’m really looking forward to seeing Kristen Plati at Chelsea Table & Stage this Thursday, November 16 as she returns to the New York stage to present Alone (With a 4 Piece Band).
If you’re looking to get in early on what is surely to be an incredible career ahead, get to this show! I wish someone had taken me to the Continental Baths in ’71 to see Bette Midler. Yeah she’s that good!
Why am I saying that? Because Kristen promises to bring a tsunami of exquisite sound and talent to the stage of what has quickly and rightfully become one of NYCs premiere music venues. As a singer and a songwriter she’ll be performing all of her own original music; you’ll witness a full show of her artistry and her songs (much of which I’ve been fortunate to have heard performed live).
Joined on stage by Nick West, Steve A. Williams, Hiroyuki Matsuura, Shu Odamura, Bianca Disarro and Abby Burke, Kristen will bring her music to the forefront in a journey of self-discovery: her music is a documentation of that journey. Her relatable, honest lyrics and powerful, raw vocals transport listeners deep inside her heart, her mind and her story of love, loss, heartbreak and finding herself and her confidence. Her style has been likened to a blend of Adele, Tori Kelly and Sara Bareilles. Her stage presence and personality captivate the audience.
Born and raised in Perth, Australia, but now firmly established in New York City, her music can be heard in the singles she’s released as well as in national commercials, and on TV shows including Netflix’s “Selling Tampa” and Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Dubai.”
